General Information
Where Campus Technology 2008 explored Next-Gen.Edu—the new technologies, services, web tools, and cultural changes
taking root on our campuses—our 2009 conference moves to the next level: Leading attendees into mastery of a
range of rapidly evolving digital worlds.
We are seeking presenters who will impart expertise in Web 2.0 and 3.0 (including cloud computing and worldware),
the latest instructional tools and learning infrastructures, the development and optimization of digital
campus communities, immersive learning, new-age student services, and more. We encourage cross-functional teams, so please consider attendee teams as you plan
your session proposal.

About Campus Technology 2009 Attendees
Attendees are campus tech leaders or those poised at the threshold of leadership: CIOs, instructional
designers, academic computing pros, tech-savvy faculty, and others charged with campus technology implementations.
New! Presentatons can be submitted for various session formats.
Indicate your preference breakout session, pre-conference
workshop, or poster session. The review committee may accept sessions with their stated preferences or suggest an alternate format.
Note: within the breakouts we encourage interactive panel presentations, "shootouts," audience participation sessions, audience
polling . . . be creative!
Session Types
- 1-Hour Breakout Sessions — Held in breakout meeting rooms Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, July 28 - 30, 2009 at the Boston Convention
& Exhibition Center. Meeting rooms will be set theater style.
- 3 1/2-Hour Pre-conference Workshops — Held on Monday, July 27, 2009. Set in a classroom setting that will allow participants
to interact with technology and/or each other. Please state in your session description if your session is a "hands-on" workshop.
You should also state in your description if attendees will be expected to bring their own laptops, and if they need to be wireless-ready.
- 1-Hour Poster Sessions — Held on Tuesday or Wednesday, July 28 or 29, 2009, should feature a detailed graphic display of your
project, including papers, (text/bulleted lists, etc.) and/or related materials such as photos or other graphics, posted on a bulletin
board in the designated poster area. Poster presenters must be on-hand with their posters for informal discussion
with attendees at the designated, hour-long session times. Presenters will be supplied with a 4’ x 3’ corkboard (or foam core)
and easel. Battery-operated laptops and other small, self-contained devices will be accommodated. Electrical outlets will not
be provided. Wireless Internet connectivity is not guaranteed in poster presentation areas.
Important Deadlines and Dates
- Deadline for submissions is November 30, 2008.
- Notification of acceptance will be made by January 14, 2009.
Submission Guidelines
Proposals will only be accepted electronically. Presentation titles, descriptions, and any further information submitted may be edited for
publication. If you are unable to submit your application online, or have questions after reviewing the details below,

Information to submit for all session types:
- The title of the presentation (May be edited for publication)
- Session description to be used by the program review committee (1500 characters maximum)
- Each presenter's contact and bio information (maximum of four presenters per session): Name, academic credential,
institutional affiliation, position title, brief bio, e-mail address, phone number, and postal address for each presenter.
- Any further information deemed helpful in determining your topic's elevance to the conference (e.g., further descriptive information
about the presentation or presenters, publications, presentations, related advisory roles, etc.)
Additional information to submit for Pre-Conference Workshops and Breakout Sessions:
- Program description (500 characters maximum, and may be edited for publication)
- Objectives (500 characters maximum) for pre-conference workshop submissions only

Discounted Campus Technology 2009 Registration for Presenters
Campus Technology is pleased to provide discounted conference registration to all presenters, co-presenters and panelists selected for the
Campus Technology 2009 Conference. Upon acceptance, you will be provided with futher details.
Quantity of Presenters Per Session
A session may include between one and four presenters or panelists. You must indicate a lead
presenter for the purposes of speaker communications. Up to three co-presenters or panelists for accepted sessions
will be identified along with the lead presenter in the session listing of the final program and on the conference website.
Evaluation Process
Each proposal undergoes a process of review and evaluation by the Campus Technology Advisory Board and Program
Committee who use the following examination criteria:
- Interest to conference attendees;
- Content of presentation; and
- Relevance to conference tracks.
Proposal Notification and Presenter Confirmations
Notification of the evaluation outcome will be mailed (US Postal Service) to the lead presenter listed on the
session proposal. Please provide the address where you would prefer to receive all correspondence. Providing
your primary address will help to expedite mailings. Letters indicating whether or not your proposal has been
accepted will be mailed in mid-January 2009.
Important: A fax-back form, requiring a signature, will be included with acceptance letters to confirm
participation. Watch for the form and do not miss this important step.
