On April 1st the U.S. Department of Education released additional details about the $10 Billion in funding that has been authorized under
the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, for Title I Part A funding for local school districts and other educational agencies.
These funds are for schools that have high concentrations of students from families that live in poverty to help improve teaching and student
learning for students that are most at risk of not attaining state achievement standards.
The data on the "by State", "by District" and "Top Districts" tabs shows local education agency (LEA) allocations under the ARRA.
Amounts shown in these tables do not include the funds
that will be allocated under the annual FY 2009 appropriation.
The actual amounts received by LEAs will be smaller than shown here due to State-level adjustments to Federal Title I allocations.
States must also reserve 4 percent in fiscal year 2009 for school improvement activities.
We have put together several unique views of this data allowing you to look at the allocations across all states, and be able to
sort by total allocation, allocation per student and allocation per teacher in addition to the regular districts within a state.
We hope that this ability to view the information in new ways will allow you to gain valuable insight into the district (LEA) allocations.
After your register, click on one the tabs to begin your exploration of these allocations.
